Our Spring Break 2008 road trip continues in the high desert of Nevada. On the 30th, we set off for Virginia City, which was quite the place back in the day. Nowadays, it caters to the tourist trade and we were happy to oblige. The next day, we "did" Reno, taking in the National Automobile Museum and downtown Reno. Here are the pictures.

The way it was
Virginia City was an important part of early Nevada history. Some estimate that several billion dollars (today's value) of silver were taken out of the mines there.
